City offices closed Friday, May 9 for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

All City and County offices will be closed on Friday, May 9, 2025, in observance of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Earlier this year, the City Commission passed a resolution, joining Miami-Dade County in designating the second Friday in May as an annual city holiday to honor the men and women who serve and protect our community.

City Services

• All City administrative offices, including the Government Center, Pelican Community Park and Gateway Center will be closed on Friday, May 9.
• C.A.S.E. program at Pelican Community Park will still be in session.
• Parks will remain open for regular hours of operation.
• The SIBshuttle will run on its regular schedule.

County Services

• All Miami-Dade County administrative offices, including the Sunny Isles Beach Branch Library will be closed Friday, May 9.
• Miami-Dade Transit will run on a regular schedule.
• Solid Waste Management will be offering regularly scheduled waste and recycling service.

Post Office at the Government Center

The Post Office will remain open for its regular hours of operation.
