Senior Programs

Each season, the Cultural & Community Services Department offers a variety of programs for seniors, ages 55+. Registration is available online or in-person at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, 18070 Collins Avenue, or Gateway Center, 151 Sunny Isles Blvd.

Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID cardholders are give priority registration and receive discounts on programming.

AARP Driver Safety Course (Fee-Based)
This six-hour refresher course helps you learn the effects of aging on driving and how you can adjust your driving to compensate. This course is usually offered once a year in January. 

Bingo
Win cash prizes, gift cards, and merchandise, every Wednesday at Gateway Center. Cost is $2 per person. 

SIBshuttle Service (Free)
Easy, clean, comfortable, and handicap-accessible bus service is offered 7 days a week. The SIBshuttle takes you around town, to Aventura, and the Intracoastal Mall. This service also connects to North Miami Beach and Aventura shuttle buses. Community shuttle bus schedules are available at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, Pelican Community Park and online. You can also track the shuttle in real-time by downloading our SIBshuttle app for your smartphone or device.

Mini-FLOW (Fee-Based)
Get a new, duplicate, or renewal of your Florida ID Card or a duplicate or renewal of your Florida Driver’s License. This service is offered based on DMV availability, at Gateway Center, 151 Sunny Isles Blvd. Reservations are required by calling 305.792.1706

Mount Sinai Lunch & Learn (Free)
A monthly lecture series featuring medical professionals from Mount Sinai Medical Center discussing various topics related to your health and well-being. This series is provided as a service to the residents of Sunny Isles Beach as part of the community outreach of the Mount Sinai Medical Center. 

Senior Summer Camp
During the summer, the city offers summer camp just for seniors, ages 55+. Activities are available a la carte on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Each week offers a different activity, class or workshop and cultural trip. 

SIBeHealthy Programs
SIBeHealthy programs are available to seniors ages 60+ for a small monthly fee. Residents who have a valid City-issued SIB Resident ID Card can register for two free eligible classes a month. This means you can sign up for any combination of four SIBeHealthy classes a month. After using your free classes, additional programs are available for $10 a month.
