Parking PaybyPhone new Rates

The City manages and operates 7 surface parking lots, 2 garages, and residential street parking. For convenience, enhanced parking technology such as PayByPhone is available at all municipal parking lots throughout the city. Additionally, the City has electric vehicle charging stations in select parking locations.

Parking Requirements

  • No idling without paying the meter
  • Head in parking ONLY – in all lots
  • No refunds will be issued for metered parking
  • Four-hour time limit when parking with a disabled parking placard
  • No commercial vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds can be parked in residential areas or parking lots with the exception of William Lehman Causeway Lot.

PayByPhone Parking

PayByPhone lets you pay for parking in seconds. The app allows you to extend your parking session from anywhere and will even remind you when your parking session is about to expire! Parking with PayByPhone is convenient, easy and secure.

PayByPhone parking is now available in any Sunny Isles Beach municipal lot which requires payment.

Smartphone users can enter m.paybyphone.com on their browser, download the iPhone or Android app, or call 1-866-234-7275. Search for “PaybyPhone” on your smart phone’s app store and select “download.” After downloading the app you must register your car to your account by entering your license plate number.

Once you have registered for an account, you can park in 4 easy steps:

  • Open the app
  • Click the large “PARK” button located on the homepage of your screen
  • Enter the parking location number posted on the PayByPhone signs in the parking lot
  • Select a parking duration

How Do I Sign Up?

Registration with a free PayByPhone account is required and can be completed via the mobile app (on iOS and Android devices), the web app at www.paybyphone.com, or by phone at 1-866-234-7275 (the account will be activated immediately and the parking session can be started on the initial phone call.)

The next time you call or log on, your details will be automatically recognized.

The following information is required to set up an account

  • Mobile Phone Number
  • Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard)
  • License Plate of Car(s)

How Does the Parking Enforcement Officer Know I’ve Paid by Phone?

When you pay for parking by phone, your license plate and parking time are automatically displayed on the device used by the parking officer. Users do not need to display a receipt.

What if I get a Parking Ticket?

If you believe you have received a ticket in error, please contact the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Code Compliance Parking Division at 305-792-1900. Instructions are on the back of the ticket. You can use your PayByPhone Account to check payment status. Please print out copies to bring or send to the City of Sunny Isles Beach. They will not accept visual inspection of your phone as proof.

How do I Add an Additional Vehicle to my Account?

Adding a vehicle may be completed within the PayByPhone app, by going to paybyphone.com and logging into your account, or calling the parking line at 1-866-234-7275 and follow the prompts. You may add up to nine vehicles.

Is it Safe to do a Credit Card Transaction on a Mobile Phone?

Yes. Your credit card number is encrypted when you sign up and is never entered, displayed, or spoken during a transaction.

When Will I See the Transactions on my Credit Card Statement?

Each time you pay for parking with PayByPhone, the payment is processed in real-time. The amount of time that elapses before it shows up on your account will vary depending on your credit card company. Your charge will appear as “Pay By Phone Parking” on your credit card statement.

Can I Get a Receipt?

You can view all your transactions by logging onto your account at paybyphone.com. All parking charges can be printed off in the form of a receipt. Email receipts are available; select this optional feature on your profile.



Resident Discount for Metered Parking

To keep parking affordable for Sunny Isles Beach residents, the City offers a discounted meter rate of $2. To receive the discount, residents must register their vehicle(s) online through their portal account. Residents must also have a a PayByPhone account. Once registered, residents will receive the discounted rate at City-operated meter spots.

Required Documents for Registration

  1. Current and valid proof of residency (one of the following)
    • Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID Card, or
    • A Current deed or lease; And utility bill from within the last three (3) months (electric, cable, or phone (not mobile) etc.), with name of resident and Sunny Isles Beach address
  2. Current and valid government identification (one of the following)
    • Driver’s license
    • Identification card
    • Passport
  3. Current vehicle(s) registration
    • If using a rental car, submit rental agreement
    • If using a company’s vehicle, submit written authorization letter
  4. Current and valid vehicle insurance

  5. Photo of vehicle

How to Register

Residents can now apply for the Resident Metered Parking and/or Resident Only Parking permit online. Please follow the steps below to submit an application:

Step 1: Visit our online portal and click the “sign up” button to create an account, or login with your credentials.

Step 2: Once logged in, click GO under My Portal.

Step 3: Click APPLY under APPLY ONLINE.

Step 4: On the drop-down menu, select “PARKING” and then “PARKING APPLICATION.”

Step 5: Begin to type address then select your address from drop down menu

Step 6: Select “PERMIT DETAILS” and input all information required.

Step 7: Select “PERMIT SUBMITTALS”. Upload ALL required documents for the Code Compliance division to review.

Step 8: Submit application


Current PayByPhone Application Users:

If you already use the PayByPhone app, you must register your vehicle(s) with the City to automatically receive the resident rate when using the app. Be sure to use the same phone number you used to register on the app.
